Update: June 4, 2017. This past weekend was the official unveiling of the entire (so far) Chalk Art series, and it was met with a wonderful response! I met so many people who shared their rescue stories and experiences, it was amazing. Now that the entire series has been seen, I’m going to be listing all the pieces in their different sizes in my Etsy shop over the next few days. If you know what you want and would like to place an order in the meantime, contact me. I’ll post another update when the series is completely up.
The Chalk Art series, “When You Adopt a Shelter Dog”, is a project I started a couple of years ago. I’m starting to add more pieces as the weather warms up (we moved last year from Los Angeles to Kalamazoo, MI and are still adjusting to the MI weather). The series is about continuing to getting the word out about shelter dogs (but there are plans to add cats to mix as well). These dogs are mine, both rescues. I’ve always had rescue dogs (except for one, my soul mate dog, Stiggy, who died much too soon but who paved the way for the many dogs who followed him).
This ongoing series is for sale in my Etsy shop. The prints are matted and range from 4 x 6 through 11 x 14 (as well as framed). A portion of each sale will go to a non-profit agency helping shelter/rescue dogs. These will be announced on the individual listing pages, and will change periodically so that we can help as many as possible.
I hope you like them, I hope you’ll remember all the dogs who are filling the shelters as we speak, thinking they are unloved and unwanted.
