Winged Dog, Pitbull t-shirts

This page is about the Winged Dog, Pitbull t-shirts I make and sell. Specific information on how to buy the tee is at the bottom of the page. The first part is a bit about them in general and how they came to be.

So I have this personal photograph project I’ve been working on; the wings. They’re a handmade backdrop that I made specifically for dogs (but found that people looks amazing in front them as well; though that’s another story). I had my first “on location” Winged Dogs shoot this past September at GoFETCH in Long Beach, and it was a smashing success! All the dog hit their mark, and they all look amazing in their photos.

I’m working on those images and prints now, but in the meantime, i took one of the photos and created this graphic (this copyrighted graphic :):

And from this graphic I had some t-shirts made, and THEY.ARE.AWESOME.

The first run sold out in just a few days. but the 2nd, much larger run, is coming in a week or so, and I’m now taking orders for these sizes: Small, Medium, Large and X-Large. They’re unisex shirts, so if you’re a man, order the size you usually do. If you’re a girl, or want a looser fit, order a size down.

I’m a tee freak (I have about 100, maybe more, and I hang them in my closet, by color), and I spent weeks investigating different print options. I finally came up with the one that works best, and man, it’s a honey.

I plan on making more tees with different graphics, but I thought it was a great idea to start with the Pittie. Her name is Fay, and she’s wonderful. I love her.

Fay’s tee is a crew neck, 60/40 cotton poly blend and is soft as hell! The graphic is discharge printed, so there’s no scratchy, plastic-craptastic feel. You wash it one and it’s instant vintage; both the fabric and the look.

Right now, this is the only place you can get the tee. If you want to order a t-shirt, contact me using the “contact” link at the top of this page, and we’ll get you hooked up. Each tee is $35 (plus sales tax if you’re in Calif.), and $6 shipping in the continental US (excluding Alaska). I’ll ship anywhere, for the lowest price possible, so if you need a shipping quote, hit me up.

If you’re a retailer who’s interested in selling these in your shop, let me know. I’m willing to talk.

Here’s me in the tee. I love the shirt, I love the way I look in it, and I know you will too.

OH, and PLUS! Five dollars from each tee sold goes to It’s a Pittie Rescue  just out of Chicago. So you get some great fashion and support rescue at the same time. Seriously, how awesome is that?

The First Winged-Dog tee, available now!

    Lizzy Flagan - Susan,

Since Hugo touched the sky I’ve been committing every day to a life that honors my profound connection with animals. I sell real estate in Cambridge/Boston, MA. It makes me good money, but is not my soul’s work. I am a photographer, and right around the time I was recruited by an established real estate team (long story), I was really getting close to feeling GOOOOD at it. And it kept me close to animals. And I loved that so very much. And my camera and I barely speak these days, and that feels– well– not so good, to be honest.

Since Hugo touched the sky I’ve been in my photo archives visiting with the gorgeous life we shared and thinking that I want to spend my time with photography and relationships between animals and humans, and animals and animals for that matter, and supporting animal rescues at no cost to them, and I thought, “Is that a THiNG? Would that be odd? Could I make a difference by getting great images of dogs and people and rescues out there?” And then your Xena pic come up in my FB feed and I started clicking through to your work and your philanthropic approach to being a photographer and I thought, “This is not at all odd. It’s beautiful, and I now have someone modeling it for me, and lighting my path!”

I can’t wait to proudly wear the shirt that you soulfully designed. I’m grateful to have found you through Instagram (though I can’t remember how). You have yourself a big fan, Susan. Thank you for the beautiful work you do and the love with which you do it.

I’ll look forward to a PayPal invoice, or whatever.
