I’ve been in a bit of a funk for awhile; Mr. Susan has been travelling a lot and the dogs and my only company are two beasties who adore me but don’t get my jokes. I love the Vatos, you know I do, but sometimes I find myself missing that place out there, that world. Admittedly, I’m a hider of the world; a bit of a hermit. I’ve always been that way, it’s not because I’m getting older. I’m a homebody. A nester. A hermit.
Working at home and living like a hermit kind of go hand in hand, especially if the only other adult in the house is often away. For lots of you other home-business workers, maybe all that alone time is a great thing. For creatives, it can be disastrous. We can so easily lose our inspiration, and once that starts to teeter, it’s a slippery slope (I love that expression) to Long Days Spent Watching Reality TV.
Thank the Universe that Erica and her little man came to visit me yesterday. Dressing Milo up and letting him do his thing in front of my camera really stoked me. He got me excited about shooting some stuff–some future project maybe–and for several hours they forced me out of my hermitude. Milo inspired me.
Thanks, Mr. M. Thanks muchly, and come back anytime.
